In the Jewish and other cultures of that time women often were degraded and neglected.Yet,
- JESUS taught them.
- HE ministered to them.
- HE told stories about them.
- HE allowed them to follow HIM.
- HE had close, nonsexual friendship with many of them.
- HE first appeared to a women when
- HE came back to life from the dead, making them HIS first choice of witnesses.
- HE made sure tat his mother was looked after when HE was about to die on the cross
