The drugs of abuse may give the user a feeling of pleasure, but it is important to remember that they are toxic substances. We are constantly being made aware that long-term drug abuse can be bad for our health and that even a single use of a drug can kill. But did you ever wonder HOW drugs kill?

Heroin is the cause for more deaths by overdose than any other single drug. The majority of these deaths ultimately result from respiratory failure. A toxic dose of heroin increases the inhibitory effect of GABA, which causes breathing to slow and eventually stop.

Alcohol overdoses occur predominantly in two ways. First, by decreasing the excitatory effect of glutamate, alcohol causes unconsciousness. At high levels, it can also cause breathing to slow or cease. Second, the body tries to rid itself of unabsorbed alcohol by emptying the stomach. If a person vomits while they are unconscious, they may inhale the vomit and compromise their breathing or even drown.

Cocaine can kill in a variety of ways, most commonly heart attack, overheating (hyperthermia), and brain damage. After taking even a low dose of cocaine, you are 24 times more likely than normal to have a heart attack.

Through pain comes victory

I remember not being able to do anything and accomplishing it, but Today I think back when times were hard and I realize that GOD was always there even though things never went how I wanted it to go or be,He was always there for me lifting me up and setting me free from things that was never intended for me.Today I am known as one of Impact Directs Team member and things are going well with me

I recently got back from camp and my body is paining, but in spite of that pain I enjoyed my self and I have an renewing of my mind and no longer will I be conformed to the patterns of this world because of the Spirit of wisdom in me

What is the patterns?
  • Doing things the way the world does it.
  • Going for the things my flesh longs for.
  • Living life without JESUS being lifted up in your day.
  • Being selfish, being nasty etc.
  • Doing things that are not pleasing to our FATHER, our GOD.
  • Most important not listening to our parents even if they wrong not honoring them.
GOD Bless you

I remember not being a believer of Jesus Christ and attending a meeting called 'THE RIVER MEETING', being prayed for but always finding myself feeling drunk and opening my eyes while laying on the floor ....... Strange, but always attended this meeting.

One day I came to the same meeting at the Impact Centre in Cape Town. An Apostle by the name of Roger Petersen was speaking on 'people who are lost and do not have hope can even get into this river of God not needing to worry about the past he can take part and enjoy the river of God allowing God to take control of his life his future and seeing himself being lifted up into higher dimensions in his time on this earth' again Strange,I thought I was going mad of the drugs, I saw a Cristal clear sky blue river flowing away from me but, immediately moving into me after it was flowing away that night was an beginning of something new for me.

since that time I've decided to follow Jesus Christ and today I'm not sorry of my choice ask me why? I'll reply by telling you keep on visiting my Blog and you'll see the change I've been through in life.

God's Riches blessing upon you....

Practice telling your life story by telling your friends or writing it down
don't for get who helped you in the time when you needed help

GOD Bless

______Tell people what help you_______

We want reality!

That's why one of the most powerful ways to influence other peoples lives towards GOD is to simply tell them how you came to know the LORD

Drugs 'KILLS' do you wanna spend your whole life dead or busy dying

____________The Beach_____________

The beach was an awesome place for me I remember being angry at people and going into the ocean swimming with people next thing I know my anger is driven out of me.
Its amazing...... swimming is my favorite hobbies not that I am a great swimmer, but the fact that it helped me feel better especially in summer when I am angry at one of my friends or family members.

If you can't handle being angry at people or life, first of all give it to GOD then go swimming in ocean, after you had swam with people most importantly, forget about what made you angry or Forgive the person and forget what was said or done to you that made you angry

If Its life problems leave it to GOD
speak to someone you feel comfortable speaking to
that's my personal point of view,
try it might work?

GOD Bless

____Keeping communion with others____

I will keep communion with other disciples of Jesus
You are now a member of a big family!
It is wonderful to have fellowship with spiritual sisters and brothers.
There experiences will be helpful and you receive encouragement from them.
while you listen to the Word of the Lord (The preaching) you will receive important advise, guidance and strength.
Visit a biblical oriental church. we will gladly help you to find one if you like

I want confess to Jesus
You have received deliverance through the redeemer Jesus and you have received salvation.
Do not be shy to confess to everybody who will listen to it.
On one hand this will strengthen your decision and on the other hand you will help other people find Jesus.
You will find out very quickly that the Spirit in you will help you in this!

Be Good to Your Brain
So what can you do for your brain? Plenty.

Eat healthy foods. They contain potassium and calcium, two minerals that are important for the nervous system.
Get a lot of playtime (exercise).
Wear a helmet when you ride your bike or play other sports that require head protection.
Don't drink alcohol, take drugs, or use tobacco.
Use your brain by doing challenging activities, such as puzzles, reading, playing music, making art, or anything else that gives your brain a workout!

The Biggest Part: the Cerebrum
The biggest part of the brain is the cerebrum. The cerebrum makes up 85% of the brain's weight, and it's easy to see why. The cerebrum is the thinking part of the brain and it controls your voluntary muscles — the ones that move when you want them to. So you can't dance — or kick a soccer ball — without your cerebrum.

When you're thinking hard, you're using your cerebrum. You need it to solve math problems, figure out a video game, and draw a picture. Your memory lives in the cerebrum — both short-term memory (what you ate for dinner last night) and long-term memory (the name of that roller-coaster you rode on two summers ago). The cerebrum also helps you reason, like when you figure out that you'd better do your homework now because your mom is taking you to a movie later.

The cerebrum has two halves, with one on either side of the head. Some scientists think that the right half helps you think about abstract things like music, colors, and shapes. The left half is said to be more analytical, helping you with math, logic, and speech. Scientists do know for sure that the right half of the cerebrum controls the left side of your body, and the left half controls the right side.

______I WANT TO SPEAK TO GOD______

This is also called: praying. Most probably praying was an effort for you up to now because you were not re conciliated with God.
You will find out very quickly that this has changed completely.
Praying will give you an inner peace and you will have communion with Jesus.
In this you will have the help of the holy spirit who is living in you and the Father.Every conversation will be more intensive if a dialogue develops - therefore a time of listening is also required.
If you pray often you will quickly learn to know the soft voice of Jesus.

How do you remember the way to your friend's house? Why do your eyes blink without you ever thinking about it? Where do dreams come from? Your brain is in charge of these things and a lot more.

In fact, your brain is the boss of your body. It runs the show and controls just about everything you do, even when you're asleep. Not bad for something that looks like a big, wrinkly, gray sponge.

Your brain has many different parts that work together. We're going to talk about these five parts, which are key players on the brain team:

cerebrum (say: suh-ree-brum)
cerebellum (say: sair-uh-bell-um)
brain stem
pituitary gland (say: puh-too-uh-ter-ee gland)
hypothalamus (say: hy-po-thal-uh-mus)

__________What will I do now!________

I want to read the Word of the Lord, the bible
Your former life is now a thing of the past and you are now a new creature; born of the Spirit of God.
That's a wonderful secret which you will understand better and better if you read the bible regularly. Read daily in the new testament.
Start in the letter of John and read thereafter through the rest of the letter and reports. In this fashion you will feed your inner person with the Word of God (=spiritual food) and it will be easy for you to recognize sinful habits and to let them go.

Prep time: about 1 to 2 hours

1 8-oz. container of your favorite flavor of yogurt

small paper cups
wooden popsicle sticks (available in craft stores)
plastic wrap

Pour yogurt into paper cups. Fill them almost to the top.
Stretch a small piece of plastic wrap across the top of each cup.
Using the popsicle stick, poke a hole in the plastic wrap. Stand the stick straight up in the center of the cup.
Put the cups in the freezer until the yogurt is frozen solid.
Remove the plastic wrap, peel away the paper cup, and eat your pop!
Serves: 3 to 4

Serving size: 1 pop

Nutritional analysis (per serving):

127 calories

5 g protein

2 g fat

21 g carbohydrate

0 g fiber

7 mg cholesterol

73 mg sodium

262 mg calcium
0 mg iron

Note: Nutritional analysis may vary depending on ingredient brands used.

If you like, you can make this recipe using plastic ice-pop molds instead of the paper cups and popsicle sticks.

For a cool-looking snack, fill your cups only halfway with one flavor of yogurt in Step 1. Follow Steps 2, 3, and 4. Remove your pops from the freezer, take off the plastic wrap, and spoon in another flavor of yogurt that's a different color. Put the plastic wrap back on and freeze once more. When your pops are frozen, you'll have two-colored treats!

. Be active. One job you have as a kid — and it's a fun one — is that you get to figure out which activities you like best. Not everyone loves baseball or soccer. Maybe your passion is karate, or kickball, or dancing. Ask your parents to help you do your favorite activities regularly. Find ways to be active every day. You might even write down a list of fun stuff to do, so you can refer to it when your mom or dad says it's time to stop watching TV or playing computer games!

3. Listen to your body. What does it feel like to be full? When you're eating, notice how your body feels and when your stomach feels comfortably full. Sometimes, people eat too much because they don't notice when they need to stop eating. Eating too much can make you feel uncomfortable and, over a period of time, can lead to unhealthy weight gain

Drink water and milk most often. When you're really thirsty, cold water is the No. 1 thirst-quencher. And there's a reason your school cafeteria offers cartons of milk. Kids need calcium to grow strong bones, and milk is a great source of this mineral. How much do kids need? Aim for 3 cups of milk per day, or its equivalent. You can mix it up by having milk and some other calcium-rich dairy foods. Here's one combination:

2 cups (about half a liter) of low-fat or nonfat milk
1 slice cheddar cheese
½ cup (small container) of yogurt
You probably will want something other than milk or water once in a while, so it's OK to have 100% juice, too. But try to limit sugary drinks, like sodas, juice cocktails, and fruit punches. They contain a lot of added sugar. Sugar just adds calories, not important nutrients.

. Eat a variety of foods, especially fruits and vegetables. You may have a favorite food, but the best choice is to eat a variety. If you eat different foods, you're more likely to get the nutrients your body needs. Taste new foods and old ones you haven't tried for a while. Some foods, such as green veggies, are more pleasing the older you get. Shoot for at least five servings of fruits and vegetables a day — two fruits and three vegetables. Here's one combination that might work for you:

at breakfast: ½ cup (about 4 large) strawberries on your cereal
with lunch: 6 baby carrots
for a snack: an apple
with dinner: ½ cup broccoli (about 2 big spears) and 1 cup of salad

Can I Tell If Someone Is Using Drugs?
If someone is using drugs, you might notice changes in how the person looks or acts. Here are some of those signs, but it's important to remember that depression or another problem could be causing these changes. A person using drugs may:

lose interest in school
change friends (to hang out with kids who use drugs)
become moody, negative, cranky, or worried all the time
ask to be left alone a lot
have trouble concentrating
sleep a lot (maybe even in class)
get in fights
have red or puffy eyes
lose or gain weight
cough a lot
have a runny nose all of the time

Why Do People Use Illegal Drugs?
Sometimes kids and teens try drugs to fit in with a group of friends. Or they might be curious or just bored. A person may use illegal drugs for many reasons, but often because they help the person escape from reality for a while. If a person is sad or upset, a drug can - temporarily - make the person feel better or forget about problems. But this escape lasts only until the drug wears off.

Drugs don't solve problems, of course. And using drugs often causes other problems on top of the problems the person had in the first place. A person who uses drugs can become dependent on them, or addicted. This means that the person's body becomes so accustomed to having this drug that he or she can't function well without it.

Once a person is addicted, it's very hard to stop taking drugs. Stopping can cause withdrawal symptoms, such as vomiting (throwing up), sweating, and tremors (shaking). These sick feelings continue until the person's body gets adjusted to being drug free again

Why Are Illegal Drugs Dangerous?
Illegal drugs aren't good for anyone, but they are particularly bad for a kid or teen whose body is still growing. Illegal drugs can damage the brain, heart, and other important organs. Cocaine, for instance, can cause a heart attack - even in a kid or teen.

While using drugs, a person is also less able to do well in school, sports, and other activities. It's often harder to think clearly and make good decisions. People can do dumb or dangerous things that could hurt themselves - or other people - when they use drugs.

Illegal Drugs
When people talk about the "drug problem," they usually mean abusing legal drugs or using illegal drugs, such as marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine, LSD, crystal meth and heroin. (Marijuana is generally an illegal drug, but some states allow doctors to prescribe it to adults for certain illnesses.)

Medicines Are Legal Drugs
If you've ever been sick and had to take medicine, you already know about one kind of drugs. Medicines are legal drugs, meaning doctors are allowed to prescribe them for patients, stores can sell them, and people are allowed to buy them. But it's not legal, or safe, for people to use these medicines any way they want or to buy them from people who are selling them illegally.

Its truly amazing what God is doing in South Africa and the World.

All i want to share with you is my experience when i sat in my first session on Tuesday.

It was somewhat chaotic but at the same time the adrenalin was flowing overtime, as the guys was doing their best to make a difference in the lives of many peeps ova mxit.

There were very horrible stories being told, but God as given them the opportunity to help solve their problems as well as a support structure, which is in place at the Impact Centre.

Will keep you up to date with the latest.

Ciao 4 Now =)

Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I realize I am a sinner, lost and on my way to hell but your Word and your Spirit spoke to me. I repent of my ways and I want to follow you
I pray and ask Jesus Christ to become Lord and Saviour of my life. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus is the Son of God, and that He died on the cross for my sins and that your raised Him up from the dead. At this moment lay my whole life before you.

everything is meaningless if you dont have the SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD {JESUS }

I Thought in my heart ,come now , I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good .But that also proved to be meaningless as Ecclesiastes say in chapter 2vs1 ,finding pleasure is meaningless the world offers us so much by partying[CLUBBING],drinking ,drugs, porn and also being in gangsterism only satisfies a person at that moment ,what is the meaning also having a degree and having everything that you have big house, being famous and nice cars...can you buy yourself into heaven by all this NO YOU CAN NOT !! Ecclesiastes say in chapter 2vs11 yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what i toiled to achieve ,everything was meaningless ,a chasing after the wind nothing was gained under the sun . Everything has meaning when you are in Christ and everything OUTSIDE of Christ IS MEANINGLESS

A Prayer Of Jerome

On this walk we had we met up with tow guys on the left side of the picture above and on the right hand side of the picture we have a young man by the name of Jerome who is praying with these guys

It's good to pray for our community making it a better place with good people living in it.
Now you do the same let us pray for our community our nation lets develop a nation so that other nations will look up to this nation and say; 'we want what your nation has'

GOD Bless

Two years ago on this exact day,I was down and out and on the brink of suicide.I called out on the name of The Lord and was miraculously set free from eight years of drug addiction.I accepted Jesus Christ into my life and every desire to ever want to do drugs again was removed from within me.I had to put my trust in someone(Jesus Christ)whom i did not know, but deep down inside i knew it was the right and only thing to do.This was a total transformation for me as i came out of a lifestyle of drug dealing and gangserism.

One of the horrific things I did when I was on drugs was that I almost killed my mother and father. The drugs made me so paranoid I thought they(my parents)hired people to kill me.So i went home one evening with the intension to kill them and to show the world that you do not mess with me.I got the longest knife in our home and held them at knife point threatening to stab them through their face.Through the grace of God I did not go through with it.The devil is a liar because not only has God restored my relationship with my parents,But he also gave me an extended family within the body of Christ.

The Imapct Centre played a major role in my life and this is where my life was reconstructed and i was equipped to give back to the community.I am now a community developer and one of the counsellors at the Centre. Its just so awesome to be giving back to the community once destroyed and terrorised.I have committed my life to Christ and to help everyone i possibly can that is still stuck in the grips of drugs.

This has been the most exiting two years of my life.I have been on radio twice,on tv twice and got to fly in a aeroplane for the first time. But most excitingly is too see peoples lives transformed an seeing what God is doing in their lives.

I dedicate this post to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who brought me out of the muddy clay and set my feet upon the rock

I know that I will never ever go back to using drugs because my only desire now is to serve Christ, and He will never forsake me.

I know there are drug addicts out there that is looking for a way out.Jesus is the only way.All I know is that I once was lost, but now i,m found.I was blind but now I see.And i know what He has done for me,He can do for you

In the Jewish and other cultures of that time women often were degraded and neglected.Yet,
  • JESUS taught them.
  • HE ministered to them.
  • HE told stories about them.
  • HE allowed them to follow HIM.
  • HE had close, nonsexual friendship with many of them.
  • HE first appeared to a women when
  • HE came back to life from the dead, making them HIS first choice of witnesses.
  • HE made sure tat his mother was looked after when HE was about to die on the cross
GOD Bless you....

On this picture we just left the Imact Centre and we are about to take action on the streets to help others on the road who are going through tough times in their lives

GOD Bless

On this picture you see darkness and a bright reflection of grass,
for me that grass is things I've done in the dark so that nobody will know or notice, but to tell you the truth it never worked not for me, not for any of the guys on the Reconstructed team nor will it work for you, because somehow and somewhere in our life GOD will bring it out in the light

What is this light?

You see this light is the light of GOD you cannot hide from the truth your sins is seen in this light no matter how bright you where in your dark moments 'as it is said that light represents truth an darkness lies' you cannot fool GOD.

GOD sees every fault and will reveal it in the light, But you see GOD let His only son die upon the cross for our sins
"For GOD so loved the world HE gave HIS only Son so whosoever believed in HIM will not perish, But have everlasting life."
John 3:16
JESUS died for us he suffered for our sins, our transgressions our wrongs so that we can be forgiven by our heavenly FATHER

GOD Bless you

Our Local Butcher

This is our local butcher.I have been buying from this local butcher ever since i was a kid.The owner is so proud of us and the works we are doing in the community. She knows the path of destruction I was on.If happen to be in the Bridgetown area, try out their "worsies".It is the best

No matter how bad it seems there is a way out...

My wife Shameez and I with Vuyo Mbuli from Morning Live at the Impact Centre.

I am clean from drugs 1.5yrs now but more importantly I am serving Jesus Christ for 1.5yrs. It was the best decision I could have ever made. Jesus has been good to me and my family and has been providing for our every need.

I'm not going to tell you that it was just smooth sailing, there were tough moments as well and it caused me too depend even more on Jesus.

I made the decision to devote my whole life to serving and as a result my wife was the only one working for a salary. A month down the line my faith was tested when my wife lost her job and that left us with no money and still having to provide for our 3 boys we have together. Through this storm our faith grew in Jesus Christ as we watched how He just came through time after time.

In January God provided me the opportunity to study Principles of Event Management on a part time basis at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and this was to me full paid. I managed to finish the course and achieved an overall pass mark of 75% by the grace of God.

Currently my wife Shameez is completing a week long Debt Counselors course at Damelin College and believe it or not this was also offered to her fully paid by her employer. Praise the Lord for divinely providing for our every need. Together my wife and I also started a business in the Debt Counseling field and with her doing the Debt Counselors course it will add a new dimension to the service our company can offer.

Wow isn't the Lord my God awesome? When the wall seems unclimbable, the ocean uncrossable, the mountain unmovable our Father does the impossible!

May God bless you with the unthinkable.

My Dear Cousin

This is my cousin and his friend.Unfortunately they are still caught up in drugs but we are praying earnestly for them. Please pray for these guys saints. The other pic is of me and my cousin .I love him to bits.We started out using drugs together so my heart really goes out to him.I know that he so much wants to be drug free.I know that God hears his cries. He will be saved and set free in the name of Jesus

(My cousin is the one with the cap on)

Seeking Help

While walking the streets of Bridgetown on our way to the shop,we met this young man who was on his way to the Impact Centre to seek help for his drug addiction. He got some counselling and will be coming to the centre on a daily basis.May God bless and keep him out of harms way

PSALM 100 1-5

Shout tor joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Whorship the Lord with gladness ;come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.It is he who made us and we are his pasture.
Entre his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise;give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures for ever;his faithfulness continues through all generations

Two years ago, on this day must have been the worst day of my life. I had just lost my job about a month before and broke up with my then girlfriend on this particular day. I was down and out and decided to go on a drug binge. All the stress, worries and the all the years of drug abuse took its toll on me mentally. I have had enough of this life and just wanted to die. I went home and decided to just end it there and then (COMMIT SUICIDE). My mom then knows what I wanted to do, encourage me to call out on the name of the Lord. Because I had nothing to loose I called out on the name of the Lord and was set free immediately. God has carried me through ever since. Two years later I still find myself drug free and by the Grace of God I am able to help others that are in a similar situation.

Watch this space for my second anniversary being drug free and serving my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ

Fill me with your Holy Spirit

lord, thank you for saving me and setting me free from all that would keep me from moving into everything you have for me.Thank you for filling me with your Holy Spirit and loving me into wholeness.

How Social Media changed my life

Its roughly 6 months ago Social Media progressively started changing the way I think and view the wwworld.

Growing up as a teenager I was always fascinated by gadgets and technology, but was not priveledged enough to indulge... When I finished school I went into the party lifestyle and before I knew it I was caught up in gangsterism and drug abuse.

I was caught up in the alcohol and drugs for 9 years and I watched how my life spiralled out of control. I lost everything that I worked towards all my life...

It was just over 1.5yrs ago that I met Jesus Christ and he set me free instantly from the alcohol and drug abuse andf I want to give him all the glory. This all happened at the Impact Centre where I decided to devote my life to serving the community as a drug counsellor. While being part of the Impact Team I attended many Substance Abuse Workshops and Training sessions to effectively serve the community I once use to steal from.

About 6 months ago the Impact Team started training at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in IT and the use of Social Media. A month down the line we started the Reconstructed Blog and all the guys were now posting blogs. We are now at the point where we use social media to reach the masses and our current project is DAS@Mxit. For more info check it out

I use Social Media as a place where I can go and just express my feelings at a place where nobody will judge me. I also feel like I am making a difference in another persons when doing DAS@mxit.

Cheers and God bless

1 PETER 3:10-12 Whoever would love life and see good days mus keep his tongue from evil and his lips from deceitful speech.
He must turn from evil and do good;he must seek peace and pursue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.

Myself and Clinton and Brent took time out to talk to people in the community.

Feta alcohol syndrome (FAS) is a disorder of permanent birth defects that occurs in the offspring of women who drink alcohol during pregnancy. It is unknown whether amount, frequency or timing of alcohol consumption during pregnancy causes a difference in degree of damage done to the fetus. Thus, although prenatal alcohol exposure does not automatically result in FAS, the current recommendation is not to drink at all during pregnancy.[1]

Alcohol crosses the placental barrier and can stunt fetal growth or weight, create distinctive facial stigmata, damage neurons and brain structures, and cause other physical, mental, or behavioral problems.[2][3][4] Surveys found that in the United States, 10-15% of pregnant women admit to having recently used alcohol, and up to 30% use alcohol at some point during pregnancy.[5][6][7] The main effect of FAS is permanent central nervous system damage, especially to the brain. Developing brain cells and structures are underdeveloped or malformed by prenatal alcohol exposure, often creating an array of primary cognitive and functional disabilities (including poor memory, attention deficits, impulsive behavior, and poor cause-effect reasoning) as well as secondary disabilities (for example, mental health problems, and drug addiction).[4][8] The risk of brain damage exists during each trimester, since the fetal brain develops throughout the entire pregnancy.[9]

Glory Invasion

Last night we had another God Encounter evening at the Impact Centre. The theme this time around was aptly named Glory Invasion.

Wow! was all I could utter after the meeting and even now I still feel the effects of God's Glory Invasion in my life.

What the Glory Invasion of God means to me is that I allow the absolute splendour and magnificence of God to infiltrate every area and aspect of my life. One touch of the Glory of God will change and transform you forever!

I dare you to open up your heart for the spirit of the living God to infiltrate every area and aspect of your life. Are you ready to step out of your comfort zone and dare to changer forever?
