DRUGS CAN KILL...
The drugs of abuse may give the user a feeling of pleasure, but it is important to remember that they are toxic substances. We are constantly being made aware that long-term drug abuse can be bad for our health and that even a single use of a drug can kill. But did you ever wonder HOW drugs kill?
HEROIN
Heroin is the cause for more deaths by overdose than any other single drug. The majority of these deaths ultimately result from respiratory failure. A toxic dose of heroin increases the inhibitory effect of GABA, which causes breathing to slow and eventually stop.
ALCOHOL
Alcohol overdoses occur predominantly in two ways. First, by decreasing the excitatory effect of glutamate, alcohol causes unconsciousness. At high levels, it can also cause breathing to slow or cease. Second, the body tries to rid itself of unabsorbed alcohol by emptying the stomach. If a person vomits while they are unconscious, they may inhale the vomit and compromise their breathing or even drown.
COCAINE
Cocaine can kill in a variety of ways, most commonly heart attack, overheating (hyperthermia), and brain damage. After taking even a low dose of cocaine, you are 24 times more likely than normal to have a heart attack.

Through pain comes victory
I remember not being able to do anything and accomplishing it, but Today I think back when times were hard and I realize that GOD was always there even though things never went how I wanted it to go or be,He was always there for me lifting me up and setting me free from things that was never intended for me.Today I am known as one of Impact Directs Team member and things are going well with me
I recently got back from camp and my body is paining,but in spite of that pain I enjoyed my self and I have an renewing of my mind and no longer will I be conformed to the patterns of this world because of the Spirit of wisdom in me
What is the patterns?
- Doing things the way the world does it.
- Going for the things my flesh longs for.
- Living life without JESUS being lifted up in your day.
- Being selfish, being nasty etc.
- Doing things that are not pleasing to our FATHER, our GOD.
- Most important not listening to our parents even if they wrong not honoring them.
RIVER MEETING
I remember not being a believer of Jesus Christ and attending a meeting called 'THE RIVER MEETING', being prayed for but always finding myself feeling drunk and opening my eyes while laying on the floor ....... Strange, but always attended this meeting.
One day I came to the same meeting at the Impact Centre in Cape Town. An Apostle by the name of Roger Petersen was speaking on 'people who are lost and do not have hope can even get into this river of God not needing to worry about the past he can take part and enjoy the river of God allowing God to take control of his life his future and seeing himself being lifted up into higher dimensions in his time on this earth' again Strange,I thought I was going mad of the drugs, I saw a Cristal clear sky blue river flowing away from me but, immediately moving into me after it was flowing away that night was an beginning of something new for me.
since that time I've decided to follow Jesus Christ and today I'm not sorry of my choice ask me why? I'll reply by telling you keep on visiting my Blog and you'll see the change I've been through in life.

The beach was an awesome place for me I remember being angry at people and going into the ocean swimming with people next thing I know my anger is driven out of me.
Its amazing...... swimming is my favorite hobbies not that I am a great swimmer, but the fact that it helped me feel better especially in summer when I am angry at one of my friends or family members.
If you can't handle being angry at people or life, first of all give it to GOD then go swimming in ocean, after you had swam with people most importantly, forget about what made you angry or Forgive the person and forget what was said or done to you that made you angry
If Its life problems leave it to GOD
speak to someone you feel comfortable speaking to
that's my personal point of view,

WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR YOUR BRAIN
Be Good to Your Brain
So what can you do for your brain? Plenty.
Eat healthy foods. They contain potassium and calcium, two minerals that are important for the nervous system.
Get a lot of playtime (exercise).
Wear a helmet when you ride your bike or play other sports that require head protection.
Don't drink alcohol, take drugs, or use tobacco.
Use your brain by doing challenging activities, such as puzzles, reading, playing music, making art, or anything else that gives your brain a workout!

The cerebrum is the thinking part of the brain and it controls your voluntary muscles — the ones that move when you want them to. So you can't dance — or kick a soccer ball — without your cerebrum.
When you're thinking hard, you're using your cerebrum. You need it to solve math problems, figure out a video game, and draw a picture. Your memory lives in the cerebrum — both short-term memory (what you ate for dinner last night) and long-term memory (the name of that roller-coaster you rode on two summers ago). The cerebrum also helps you reason, like when you figure out that you'd better do your homework now because your mom is taking you to a movie later.

1 8-oz. container of your favorite flavor of yogurt
Utensils:
small paper cups
wooden popsicle sticks (available in craft stores)
plastic wrap
Directions:
Pour yogurt into paper cups. Fill them almost to the top.
Stretch a small piece of plastic wrap across the top of each cup.
Using the popsicle stick, poke a hole in the plastic wrap. Stand the stick straight up in the center of the cup.
Put the cups in the freezer until the yogurt is frozen solid.
Remove the plastic wrap, peel away the paper cup, and eat your pop!
Serves: 3 to 4
Serving size: 1 pop
Nutritional analysis (per serving):
127 calories

2 g fat
21 g carbohydrate

SAY NO TO DRUG AND BE ACTIVE
. Be active. One job you have as a kid — and it's a fun one — is that you get to figure out which activities you like best. Not everyone loves baseball or soccer. Maybe your passion is karate, or kickball, or dancing. Ask your parents to help you do your favorite activities regularly. Find ways to be active every day. You might even write down a list of fun stuff to do, so you can refer to it when your mom or dad says it's time to stop watching TV or playing computer games!

The joy of the lord

I recently experienced he loss of my dad, but God is truly amazing, instead of sulking all the time and being sad God has given me joy to get thru this experience.
When i think about my dad all i remember are those precious moments that was shared with the family as well as myself. I truly thank the Lord for such a wonderful dad and husband to my mother.
All i want to say is when you suffer a loss do not be sad but give God all the PRAISE he deserves.

When i think about my dad all i remember are those precious moments that was shared with the family as well as myself. I truly thank the Lord for such a wonderful dad and husband to my mother.
All i want to say is when you suffer a loss do not be sad but give God all the PRAISE he deserves.

everything is meaningless if you dont have the SAVIOUR OF THE WORLD {JESUS }
I Thought in my heart ,come now , I will test you with pleasure to find out what is good .But that also proved to be meaningless as Ecclesiastes say in chapter 2vs1 ,finding pleasure is meaningless the world offers us so much by partying[CLUBBING],drinking ,drugs,porn and also being in gangsterism only satisfies a person at that moment ,what is the meaning also having a degree and having everything that you have big house,being famous and nice cars...can you buy yourself into heaven by all this NO YOU CAN NOT !! Ecclesiastes say in chapter 2vs11 yet when I surveyed all that my hands had done and what i toiled to achieve ,everything was meaningless ,a chasing after the wind nothing was gained under the sun . Everything has meaning when you are in Christ and everything OUTSIDE of Christ IS MEANINGLESS

It's good to pray for our community making it a better place with good people living in it.

MY TWO YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF SERVING CHRIST AND BEING DRUG FREE
Two years ago on this exact day,I was down and out and on the brink of suicide.I called out on the name of The Lord and was miraculously set free from eight years of drug addiction.I accepted Jesus Christ into my life and every desire to ever want to do drugs again was removed from within me.I had to put my trust in someone(Jesus Christ)whom i did not know,but deep down inside i knew it was the right and only thing to do.This was a total transformation for me as i came out of a lifestyle of drug dealing and gangserism.
One of the horrific things I did when I was on drugs was that I almost killed my mother and father.The drugs made me so paranoid I thought they(my parents)hired people to kill me.So i went home one evening with the intension to kill them and to show the world that you do not mess with me.I got the longest knife in our home and held them at knife point threatening to stab them through their face.Through the grace of God I did not go through with it.The devil is a liar because not only has God restored my relationship with my parents,But he also gave me an extended family within the body of Christ.
The Imapct Centre played a major role in my life and this is where my life was reconstructed and i was equipped to give back to the community.I am now a community developer and one of the counsellors at the Centre.Its just so awesome to be giving back to the community once destroyed and terrorised.I have committed my life to Christ and to help everyone i possibly can that is still stuck in the grips of drugs.
This has been the most exiting two years of my life.I have been on radio twice,on tv twice and got to fly in a aeroplane for the first time.But most excitingly is too see peoples lives transformed an seeing what God is doing in their lives.
I dedicate this post to my Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ who brought me out of the muddy clay and set my feet upon the rock
I know that I will never ever go back to using drugs because my only desire now is to serve Christ,and He will never forsake me.

Tuesday 25th was an awesome time for Craig Ross, Giant and myself we helped the seniors at an awesome restaurant named Ashley's
We had an Great time for me just being able to honor a senior citizen is and privilege

for me that grass is things I've done in the dark so that nobody will know or notice, but to tell you the truth it never worked not for me, not for any of the guys on the Reconstructed team nor will it work for you, because somehow and somewhere in our life GOD will bring it out in the light
What is this light?
You see this light is the light of GOD you cannot hide from the truth your sins is seen in this light no matter how bright you where in your dark moments 'as it is said that light represents truth an darkness lies' you cannot fool GOD.
GOD sees every fault and will reveal it in the light, But you see GOD let His only son die upon the cross for our sins

Matthew 28:28-18 .....Then Jesus came to them and said,"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
Last night we we walked the streets in Bridgetown and i now that after last nigt the Community will,not be the same again.We went into a house where weused to buy our drug but now the Blessing of God is on that house we also went to spots where the drug addicts hangout.
It is time to give back to the community and we will be walking the streets in Bridgetown every Tuesday from 7:30pm at IMPACT CENTRE.
It is just awsome i first used to do all kind of bad thing on the streets but now we are preaching the Gospel o Jesus.

WALKING THE STREETS OF BRIDGETOWN
It is nice to see a team of young men is going to walk the streets of BRIDGETOWN to tell people about who took us out of darkness and out of drugs and gangsterism. JESUS

we took 100 seniors out for lunch and it was very blessed thank you Impact Centre
for honoring our seniors of our community.

This is our local butcher.I have been buying from this local butcher ever since i was a kid.The owner is so proud of us and the works we are doing in the community.She knows the path of destruction I was on.If happen to be in the Bridgetown area,try out their "worsies".It is the best

I am clean from drugs 1.5yrs now but more importantly I am serving Jesus Christ for 1.5yrs. It was the best decision I could have ever made. Jesus has been good to me and my family and has been providing for our every need.
I'm not going to tell you that it was just smooth sailing, there were tough moments as well and it caused me too depend even more on Jesus.
I made the decision to devote my whole life to serving and as a result my wife was the only one working for a salary. A month down the line my faith was tested when my wife lost her job and that left us with no money and still having to provide for our 3 boys we have together. Through this storm our faith grew in Jesus Christ as we watched how He just came through time after time.
In January God provided me the opportunity to study Principles of Event Management on a part time basis at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and this was to me full paid. I managed to finish the course and achieved an overall pass mark of 75% by the grace of God.
Currently my wife Shameez is completing a week long Debt Counselors course at Damelin College and believe it or not this was also offered to her fully paid by her employer. Praise the Lord for divinely providing for our every need. Together my wife and I also started a business in the Debt Counseling field and with her doing the Debt Counselors course it will add a new dimension to the service our company can offer.
Wow isn't the Lord my God awesome? When the wall seems unclimbable,the ocean uncrossable,the mountain unmovable our Father does the impossible!

This is my cousin and his friend.Unfortunately they are still caught up in drugs but we are praying earnestly for them.Please pray for these guys saints.The other pic is of me and my cousin .I love him to bits.We started out using drugs together so my heart really goes out to him.I know that he so much wants to be drug free.I know that God hears his cries.He will be saved and set free in the name of Jesus

MY FAITHFUL GOD
Two years ago, on this day must have been the worst day of my life. I had just lost my job about a month before and broke up with my then girlfriend on this particular day. I was down and out and decided to go on a drug binge. All the stress, worries and the all the years of drug abuse took its toll on me mentally. I have had enough of this life and just wanted to die. I went home and decided to just end it there and then (COMMIT SUICIDE). My mom then knows what I wanted to do, encourage me to call out on the name of the Lord. Because I had nothing to loose I called out on the name of the Lord and was set free immediately. God has carried me through ever since. Two years later I still find myself drug free and by the Grace of God I am able to help others that are in a similar situation.

How Social Media changed my life
Its roughly 6 months ago Social Media progressively started changing the way I think and view the wwworld.
Growing up as a teenager I was always fascinated by gadgets and technology, but was not priveledged enough to indulge... When I finished school I went into the party lifestyle and before I knew it I was caught up in gangsterism and drug abuse.
I was caught up in the alcohol and drugs for 9 years and I watched how my life spiralled out of control. I lost everything that I worked towards all my life...
It was just over 1.5yrs ago that I met Jesus Christ and he set me free instantly from the alcohol and drug abuse andf I want to give him all the glory. This all happened at the Impact Centre where I decided to devote my life to serving the community as a drug counsellor. While being part of the Impact Team I attended many Substance Abuse Workshops and Training sessions to effectively serve the community I once use to steal from.
About 6 months ago the Impact Team started training at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) in IT and the use of Social Media. A month down the line we started the Reconstructed Blog and all the guys were now posting blogs. We are now at the point where we use social media to reach the masses and our current project is DAS@Mxit. For more info check it out www.impactmxit.blogspot.com/
I use Social Media as a place where I can go and just express my feelings at a place where nobody will judge me. I also feel like I am making a difference in another persons when doing DAS@mxit.
