This is something i never wanted to do when i was on drugs,go out with the family.However God has changed all that and here i am having a wonderful time with my family at a theme park.My sister(Nicollette) and I went on every ride possible.It was hilarious.Should have seen us running from one ride to the other.Thank God that HE came to restore our family and made it possible for us to have spent time in such a manner.

Driver's license appointments

Brent just finished his eye test. Now its off to make his appointment for his drivers license.

What can I do to prevent drug abuse?

Here are some tips you might want to follow to prevent your child from becoming an addict:

· Accept the fact that drugs exist and that your child may possibly come into contact with them.

· Learn the facts surrounding drugs and their effects. Be a reliable source of information for your child.

· Make sure that you can spot the signs of drug abuse and be on the lookout for them.

· Make a strong stance against drugs.

· Exclude corporal punishment as far as possible.

· Encourage constructive communication.

· Respect your child’s growing up.

· Spend more quality ting with your child.

· Show your child that you care.

· Do not allow your child to control you

IMPACT DAY OUT

The Impact Team is really enjoying there new hobby (cray fishing). This was only our second time we went diving and we got more this time. The first week we got 3 crayfish and this Saturday past we caught 15 and brought 8 home. We are getting to our catch per day witch is 4 crayfish per person and we only have 5 guys that got permits so our target is 20 crayfish per day.

Advice Support expansions

This year we are starting with a bang and expanding Advice Support services with the launch of 2 new additions to DAS (Drug Advice Support). PAS (Positive Advice Support), advice and support for people impacted by HIV or AIDS, and CAS (Career Advice Support), offering youth advice on studies,career and general tips, has been launched today and is available to the public.

The father of this girl came to the Impact Centre for prayer.this 14 year old girl is gone from home for two weeks.

A STORY OF SHANNON OCTOBER

This is Shannon October he was on drugs for more than 5 years using methamphetamine (tik) and marijuana (dagga).

Yesterday he came to the Impact Centre for help and accepted Jesus in his life.Today he is here again with us and you can see the smile and happiness on his face

Had a good day with counselling.Had various cases we dealt with eg.teen pregnancies,peoples friends and families that are on drugs and looking for help for them and just people that wanted to chat and looking for a friend that can listen to them.

Also during the session we asked one of the ladies to contact young girl that had fallen pregnant and needed to speak to someone.She was advised in what to do and we will be keeping in contact with her to monitor hr progress.

DO YOU NEED A FRIEND

If we sometimes offend a friend without meaning to, God's Word offers a solution. It's called forgiveness. There is no greater example than the love of God for us. It so great that He gave His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, in order that our friendship with God might be restored. He did that in spite of the fact that we have offended Him deeply. We have disobeyed His commands, turned our backs on Him, and followed our own path. So the question remains: What type of friend do you want to be? True Christian friendship forgives.

Do you need a friend? God wants to be your true friend. Are you longing for companionship? God is always with you (Hebrews 13:5). Who do you know who needs a true friend today? God wants you to befriend others. He calls us to be His hands and feet in a world starving for true friendship.

What is mentoring?

It is a programme that empowers learners (mentee)

It involves engaging with a mentee to build their strengths by spending time and talking about issues important to them, e.g. helping with their homework, and encourage their academic development

It is about sensitive listening, self exploration and responsible decision making

It is one-on-one help in the area of basic life skills

Essentially it is helping the learner to reflect on their life experiences

MY NEW DRUG

hello everyone i was addicted to drug for more than 8 year and i used various types of drugs.I am now reconstructed and ready to make a difference in our communities.

At the time i was using drugs,it was very exciting but it does not compare with SOCIAL MEDIA it is not even on the same page.If i must talk about my drugging days it will just be about bad thing and nothing good.

On the other hand if i must talk about SOCIAL MEDIA it will just be good and i must admit i am addicted to SOCIAL MEDIA and the more i get addicted,the more people i will
encourage more people will know that there is hope.

The blogging challenge was more exiting than to use drugs where the team had to get 1000 blog posts before end of 2008, so there is a kick in SOCIAL MEDIA.

Hello everyone this will be my first post for the NEW YEAR 2009....

This is the time of when everybody is setting them self personal goal but the question is do we reach our goals.If we don't reach our goals we are making all kinds of excuses like i could not reach my goals because it was a busy year

here is a tip

let your first and highest goal be LOVE.If LOVE is your highest goal you will accomplish all your other goals.If you don't know God is Love so in what ever we do include God in your plans.

i thank you Jesus that i could make it through another year,i just want to tell everyone out there who do not have Jesus in their life now is the time he gave us another chance,so Lord i pray for everyone who is serving you,i pray for their salvation
