WOW 2008 was good...

The one word that comes to mind when I think of 2008 is, WOW! Yes 2008 has been a truly good year for me. I have achieved so much this year by the grace of The Almighty God and I know the words are going to fail me when I try to express the gratitude that's in my heart.

This year has been a drug free year for me and for some of you have read some of my other blog posts will know where I have come out of. I have grown so much spiritually and personally and to that I have to thank everybody that has stood by me throughout this year and who have contributed to my growth.

More importantly this has been a full year that I have been serving Jesus Christ who is my saviour and my redeemer and without Him none of the things I achieved would have been possible.

I am looking forward to spending 2009 with The King and walking in his favour. Father I place my life into your hands and may everything I do in 2009 bring glory to your name.

It was also found that with certain individuals Dagga has a stimulating effect. As an example: in the beginning of the Century, the Chamber of Mines instituted more breaks during working hours, in order to give the opportunity to the workers to smoke Dagga in order to improve their work performance.
There are certain cases where individuals, especially juveniles, hallucinate after using Dagga

"My child can rather use Dagga than stronger drugs"
Dagga however, is extremely dangerous. It hampers the physical development of a child and can lead to psychological defects. The greatest danger of Dagga is that it is a forerunner for harder drugs, therefore it is known as the "Gate Way Drug".
It has been proven time and again (both during interviews and court cases) that nearly every drug offender started by experimenting with Dagga.

BE POSITIVE

Get clear about what you want.#Have a good plan of attack. Ask yourself:

• What do I know about this?
• What information do I have?
• What information do I need? Where can I get it?
• What skills do I need to master?
• What other resources should I use?
• Is this the best way to do it, or is there some other way?

Definition : Humble
The Dictionary says that Humble means to have or show a low estimate
of one's own importance

This definition is helpful but it doesn't say completely what we mean by being humble.We are not unimportant - God thinks we are extremely important.we are important in our christian community too.we should show a low estimate of our importance and have a high regard for the importance of others.This means putting others first.

We've thanked him for all we have , now we can ask.
We should ask for others , for both friends and enemies.
This is also called intercession.Finally we can ask God for ourselves,
all our Hopes , Joys and Fears our Dreams and our Needs.

Patience

We live in an instant world,most of us turn on a tap and get water.We flick a switch and have electricity.We have what we need when we want it .Sometimes , this attitude effects our whole life, including our spiritual life. How often do we expect an instant answer from God

Next time we pray for something,Why not also ask for PATIENCE ?

God is listening and will answer , but you may need to be patient.

We are all unique,being a Christian doesn't mean conforming to what other people think we should look like,or following religious rules in order for God to accept us.

The Good News:

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through Him all things were made. John 1:1-3

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

God demonstrated His love by sending His promised Son, the Savior and Messiah, Jesus Christ, and allowing Him to be crucified. God paid for our sins Himself. The Lord is good, just and merciful beyond our understanding.

Seek God now. Humbly ask Him to forgive you of your sins. Jesus Christ paid the full price for sin on a Roman cross almost 2000 years ago. Seek His free gift of forgiveness and unending love.

Jesus Christ said: "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened." Matthew 7:7,8

Planning ahead without fail

Planning ahead without fail. Concentrating on the remaining effort can help reinforce commitment. Some might think they’ll get discouraged, however I haven’t found this to be the case because my tasks are bite sized and easy to finish. I’ve found it really helps to look at my goals and task lists periodically, so I can assess how much time it’ll take to do something and determine the best time to sit down and work on it.

Breaking things into bite sized chunks

Breaking things into bite sized chunks. Having broad high level goals are good but having an actionable plan is essential. A plan can identify how you can get from where you are to where you want go. Breaking goals into smaller actionable chunks (tasks) is great - it gives me motivation to start and allows me to get things done in one sitting.

Having well defined goals

Having well defined goals. I can’t stress the importance of this too much. Having goals which are well defined along good guidelines is key. I’ve found writing my goals down really helps. Whenever I get distracted, I read my goals and I’m reminded of what I am trying to do and why.

At the end of each year we turn with eagerness to all that God has for the future, and yet anxiety is apt to arise when we remember our yesterdays. God will keep watch so that we will not be tripped up again by the same failures, as would undoubtedly happen if He were not our rear guard.

How to Teach Your Child to Avoid Drugs

1. Be clear in your own mind on exactly why drugs are dangerous and why people still use them. Know what can they do to an individual physically and psychologically? What kind of people have used drugs? What kind of people still use illegal drugs? Know both the good and the bad, for example, what do some people claim drugs do spiritually?
2. Do your best to instill self-confidence within your child as they grow up. A happy, comfortable and confident child with good self-esteem is in a better place to resist peer pressure when offered drugs.
3. Sit down and talk with your children about illegal drug use once a year from age 10 and up. They may not want to talk about it, but coming up to them and straight-out telling them it's bad, and why, can be a big help.
4. Talk to them about peer pressure. Let them know it's all right to say "No," even if it means a loss in friendship (although in that case, that person may not have ever been their "friend" in the first place).
5. Give them examples of great people who were destroyed by drugs, people who died from overdoses, it will show them nobody is indestructible.

How to Deal With a Drug Addicted Family Member or Loved One

1. Love the person no matter what course of action you decide to ultimately take. They are still important to you.
2. Look into a program like Al-anon or Alateen. Consider seeking help from a school teacher, pastor or other family member.
3. Understand the disease that your loved one has and try to encourage them to get help.
4. Do not give up-you may be the key to helping them beat this.
5. Take your loved one to AA or NA meetings, if they want to go. Sometimes, talking to an alcoholic or addict that is in recovery can help you find a good course of action.
6. Educate yourself on the disease of alcoholism and drug addiction.
7. Consider doing an intervention with help from a professional interventionist.
8. Be patient and understanding to him/her.
9. Stay the course and pray.

SUPPORT TIPS

• Be careful and find the plan that works best for you.
• Consider a support group like AA - they usually have fun stuff to do together.
• Join the local community center for weekly sporting events. There are leagues for people of all skill levels.
• Get involved! Join clubs or organizations that share common goals, interests, or beliefs.
• You should note that, let's say if you used to drink alot or if you took drugs earlier(It doesnt matter if its a month, a year or three years ago) a desire to do that again might kick in in the least expecting moment, so the key here is to think about taking alcohol/drugs as less as possible and keep away from places and people where you might get some.

How to Have Fun Without Drugs and Alcohol

So, you used to drink like a fish, but you have decided to to quit. Or maybe, you loved to smoke marijuana, but you find it immature now. Here is how you can still enjoy yourself, without the drugs and alcohol.

1. If you used to be an alcoholic, do not hang out in bars. Being in a bar will just likely trigger that urge to drink.
2. Avoid old drinking or drug buddies. Yes, they are your best friends, or so you think. If they really are best friends, they will be respectful of your choice to change your lifestyle and will be there for you in the end.
3. Enjoy life. Take up exercise or outdoor sports, such as rock climbing. You will then start to feel the natural highs that the body can enjoy.
4. Be a designated driver. You are keeping your friends safe and out of trouble this way - this also makes you a good friend.
5. Rediscover the art of meaningful conversation. It is amazing when two people in a coffee shop or diner have a great, intelligent conversation. It is so much better than inane chatter telling one another how "wasted" you feel.
6. Enjoy the feeling of being 100% in control, and knowing that you are totally safe and are a LOT less likely to embarrass yourself.

HOW TO SAY NO TO DRUGS

• Be aware of your talents, skills and accomplishments so you can think of them when you feel worthless.
• Realize that you can create your own "buzz", or happy feelings, by caring about, and building, your future.
• Past accomplishments are key. If you succeeded before, you can do it again.
• Think about what you enjoy doing the most.
• You can never look back at a substance-abusing episode with pride, but you can when recalling how you utilized your skills.
• Closely examine what has made you feel valuable in the past, as we don't hurt what we value.

When I think 2 years back

I see a change, I see a big difference, I see a totally renewed person yet I'm still being renewed everyday by my Heavenly FATHER

The way I speak is Different, the way I walk in the street is even different to what it was 2 years down the line, but now we look up the line whats Gods thoughts for my life the big question everyone has. Well I don't go there but I surely take care of those thoughts by keeping on with what is right so that I don't miss out on those thoughts hallelujah......!

Be Patient

Often it can feel like forever before a youngster gets his story out. Start Early

Kids are hearing about and forced to cope with tough issues at increasingly early ages, often before they are ready to understand all aspects of these complicated ideas. Additionally, medical research and public health data tells us that when young children want information, advice and guidance, they turn to their parents first. Once they reach the teenage years, they tend to depend more on friends, the media and other outsiders for their information. As a parent, you have a wonderful opportunity to talk with your child about these issues first, before anyone else can confuse your child with incorrect information or explanations that lack the sense of values you want to instill. We need to take advantage of this "window of opportunity" with young children and talk with them earlier and more often, particularly about tough issues like sex, HIV/AIDS, violence, alcohol and drugs.
